Performing meritorious deeds: Shan State CM participated in performing good deeds

Organized by the Shan State Government, the ceremonies of receiving religious advices from the Sayadawgyis of multiple sects, donating Pitika scriptures, offering meals and dry provisions and pouring water to the Bodhi tree were held at the communal hall of Culamuniloka Chantha Pagoda in Taunggyi Township, Shan State (South), at 6 AM on 22nd May.

At the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and wife, Chief Justice of the State High Court and wife, State Ministers, State Advocate General, secretary of State Government, State/District/Township departmental officials offered morning meal to the 108 members of Sangha who residing in Taunggyi Township.

The congregation led by the state Chief Minister observed five precepts administered by the presiding Sayadaw of Taunggyi Township SunlunguKammahtan monastery, took the Pritta Suttas recited by the Sangha, took the sermon and shared the merits gained.

Later, the congregation led by the Chief Minister offered the dry provisions and offertories to the 108 members of Sangha and poured the water to the Bodhi tree in the compound of Culamuniloka Chantha Pagoda in line with the religious procedures, it’s reported.
