Performing Arts Competition: Leading Committee held a coordination meeting

A Leading Committee for Organizing 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition held its coordination meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

Patron of the Leading Committee, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Soe Win attended the meeting and gave a speech.

He said the State Administration Council is implementing the facts included in the Social Affairs of the Nine Objectives which is “To respect and promote the customs and traditions of all National peoples and preserve and safeguard their cultural heritage and national characteristics”.

That’s why, efforts are being made to organize the Myanmar Traditional Performing Arts Competition which has been failed to hold for a long time.

Like the previous years, 3 types of competition in singing, 8 types in dancing, one in song composing and 13 in playing musical instruments are planned for the 23rd Competitions.

The Deputy Prime Minister urged all to make cooperation and coordination for successful holding of the competitions.

Chairman of the Leading Committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko reported on the objectives of the competitions, formation of the Leading Committee, Work Committee and Sub-committees and financial matters.

It was followed by a general round of discussions by the officials. The meeting ended with a closing remark by the Deputy Prime Minister.
