Perennial Crops Research Farm: Taninthayi Region CM visited perennial crops research farm

Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo visited the coffee variety competition trial plots and cocoa trial cultivation plots at the Perennial Crops Research and Technology Development Farm (Maliwan ) in Kawthaung Township in the afternoon on May 20th. He provided guidance on collectively working towards the advancement of the agricultural sector, on expanding and promoting raw materials into finished goods through MSME activities for socio-economic development, and on other necessary matters.

 

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and responsible officials attended a meeting at the (18) Mile Shwe Si Ohn Company with oil palm, rubber, and betel nut growers and entrepreneurs. At the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that the region government is providing multifaceted support for the development of the agricultural sector. He urged farmers to consistently coordinate with the Agriculture Department, to pass on and adopt modern agricultural technologies and information, and to continuously strive for increased agricultural production and regional economic development.

 

Following this, officials from Shwe Si Ohn Company and Yuzana Oil Palm Company presented on their companies' operational status. The Chief Minister, after providing necessary coordination and guidance, toured the palm oil production stages and the crude palm oil mill together with the responsible officials.

 

The Chief Minister and officials subsequently inspected the operations of drinking water distribution by Good Water Co., Ltd., within Kawthaung Township, it’s reported.
