Pelosi welcomes Singaporean PM to US Capitol

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi welcomed Singapore's prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong, to the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday for a bipartisan meeting with U.S. lawmakers. Pelosi said "The U.S.-Singapore bond is a very important one to the country, and they look forward to discussion about mutual security, economic opportunities and development, as well as addressing the climate crisis". Lee also expressed that "It's critical for the US to stay involved and engaged in the Asia Pacific and to develop and grow its economic ties with the region". He added the free trade agreement that exists between the U.S. and Singapore promotes investment in the U.S. and exports from the U.S. to Singapore and accounts for a quarter million U.S. jobs.
