Peasants’ Day: 63rd anniversary celebration in Ayeyawady Region

The 63rd anniversary Peasant’s Day ceremony conducted on Sunday in Wahdu village, KanGyiDaunt Township, Ayeyawady Region. State Administration Council Member Mahn Nyein Maung attended the ceremony, together with Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and other relevant officials.

The ceremony featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to inaugurate the entrance signboard, a documentary photo session and cash prizes presentation to performing troupes. The SAC member and party then toured the commemorative Home Garden and fruit and vegetable garden.

During the visit, they met with a Russian Embassy official and a representative from Ruma Organic Company. They also had a cordial discussion on Russian foliar fertilizers and sunflower varieties and toured the Super Sun-41 sunflower plantations.

The ceremony then proceeded and the SAC member read out the message sent by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing. The Chief Minister also delivered a congratulatory speech. 

This was followed by rural folk dances, commemorative songs and Kayin ethnic dances performed by students and artists and prize presentation to Agricultural Excellence Award winners. The SAC member and party then inaugurated the commemorative booths, and observed a paddy cultivation demonstration.

The commemorative booths showcased multi-crop plantations, fish ponds and demonstrations with various paddy transplanters and seeders by relevant departments. A total of 51 booths on agriculture, livestock and MSME development and research will be displayed, running until March 4.
