





A peace discussion between State Peace Talks Team and representatives of 5 NCA-signatory ethnic armed organizations: ALP, DKBA, KNU/KNLA-PC, LDU and PNLO was held at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.
Member of the SAC Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) Union Minister in his capacity as the leader of the peace talk team Lt-Gen Yar Pyae cordially greeted peace delegations of 5 NCA-signatory ethnic armed organizations.
The meeting was attended by SAC member Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, SAC member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Vice Chairman of the NSPNC Union Minister Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Secretary of the NSPNC Lt-Gen Min Naing and committee members and peace delegations led by Chairperson of ALP Saw Mara Yazar Lin, Vice Chairman of KNU/ KNLA Peace Council Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo, Vice Chairman of LDU Kyar Phu, PNLO Chairman Khun Thurein and DKBA Military Control Commander Level Saw Ba Nyein Aung.
At the meeting, leader of the Peace Talk Team Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and on behalf of 5 EAOs, Patron of PNLO Phyar Tan Khun Okkar extended greetings respectively.
Later, they discussed the articles to be amended in the 2008 Constitution that was agreed by the NSPNC and the UPDJC working group, the sections that should be amended out of the provisions (Articles) of 2008 Constitution by the Analysis and Drafting Team and holding a free and fair multi-party democratic general election.
After that, the first day meeting adjourned and the 2nd day meeting will be held on 30th August.
