









Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min AUng Hlaing received Chairman of Pa-O National Liberation Organization-PNLO Khun Thurein, Chairman of Lahu Democratic Union-LDU Kyar Solomon and Vice Chair of Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) Saw Mra Razar Lin at the Bayint Naung villa in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday morning to discuss peace issues.
At the meeting, the Senior General said endeavours for practicing of genuine multiparty democratic system and building a Union based on democracy and federalism as a political goal, the needs for participation of ethnic representatives at the political podium more than present for discussing the region and ethnic rights in line with the law, assistance plans of the government, measures to be carried for participating representatives of ethnic people and public classes in the parliament according to the type of political party.
The Senior General added that the Union ethnic people need to work together for the development of the country in unison as they live together under the same umbrella of the mother land and also explained endeavours for peace process based on the 2008 State Constitution and the Nationwide ceasefire agreement (NCA).
Later, the Chairmen of PNLO and LDU and the Vice Chair of ALP and parties reported on plans for development and achieving peace, measures for ensuring peace and stability of the country and the development of all regions, efforts for more understanding on the genuine good-will of Head of State by the people and ethnic armed organizations in implementing peace process, the emergence of white elephant is a good sign and fortune for ensuring peace, tranquility and development of the nation at the time when the peace is being implemented.
They also discussed practicing multi-party democratic system and the same visions on building a union based on democracy and federalism as well as regional development.
Later, the Senior General reiterated that if all ethnic people strive with unity, the development of the Union can be implemented in future, measures to be carried out depending on the attitudes obtained after the second meeting and plans for development of ethnic areas as 330 billion Kyats have been provided by the State from the National Economic Promotion Fund for the development of ethnic areas as well as exchanged views on peace issues and regional development affairs.
After the meeting, the Senior General presented commemorative gifts to the peace representatives. They also gave in turn gifts to the Senior General. The peace delegation will continue to hold peace dialogues with the peace talk team formed by the SAC and the National Solidarity and Peace Implementation Negotiation
