Chairperson of National Reconciliation and Peace Centre State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on Thursday delivered a speech on the occasion of the 5th Anniversary of signing of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA).

In her speech, the State Counsellor stressed difficulites in implementation of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) which were misunderstanding of the accords and terms of the NCA, functioning of the NCA mechanisms and the limit of the NCA.

Efforts were made to overcome those challenges and it led to the signing of Part 3 of the Union Accord.

Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) is to begin political discussions for establishing a democratic federal union. If efforts are made with deep hope, a real union with peace will be established.

The State Counsellor urged the public to support the organizations and persons who have been trying to achieve peace in the nation and participate in the peace process to establish a union based on national reconciliation and peace.
