Peace Process: RCSS delegation arrives Nay Pyi Taw

A peace delegation led by Chairman of the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) General Yawd Serk arrived Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday at the invitation of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, aiming to achieve eternal peace and ending armed conflict in the entire nation. 

They were welcomed by the members and officials from National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee, national races and staff from the Fine Arts Department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and people.

The RCSS delegation held a first round meeting from 20th to 22nd May, and during the meeting, agreements have been reached for strengthening multi-party democracy system, establishment of a union based on democracy and federal system and continuing efforts for union peace and development.

During the second round meeting, it has been paving for the ethnic armed organizations to make frank and cordial discussion on their political will and future plans.

Those EAOs who have not come yet to the peace talks are also invited without prior restrictions. The RCSS delegation arrived No.2 Myanmar- Thai Friendship Bridge in Tachileik in the afternoon, and they proceeded to Nay Pyi Taw via Kengtung Airport.
