Peace Process: New Mon State Party arrives in Nay Pyi Taw

With the aims for achieving eternal peace in the entire nation and ceasing the armed conflicts, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing invited peace talks for ethnic armed organizations.

At the invitation of the SAC Chairman Prime Minister, the peace delegation led by Vice Chairman of the New Mon State Party (NMSP) Nai Aung Min arrived in Horizon Lake View Resort, Nay Pyi Taw on Monday afternoon.

They were welcomed there by members of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee and the ethnic people from the Department of  Fine Arts of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, departmental officials and  local people who have desire to peace by holding the Myanmar miniature flags and placards bearing, “Perpetual Peace is the real aspiration of the people”, “Achieving peace is the true desire of all citizens”, “Let’s hold talks for peace in the Union”, “Only the ethnic nationalities are in unity, stability, peace and tranquility will be achieved” in Mon and Myanmar languages.

The peace talks with the peace delegation led by the New Mon State Party was held for the 1st time from the 23rd to 25th May 2022 and in the discussion, strengthening of democratic system, building a Union based on the democracy and federalism and continuous striving for the Union Peace and Development were agreed.

In this 2nd peace dialogue, the path is opened to discuss the political needs of ethnic armed organizations and future work programs and the ethnic armed organizations that have not come yet to the peace dialogue have been invited to discuss without restrictions under any circumstances.
