Paying Tribute: State flag lowered at half-mast

A ceremony for lowering state flag at half-mast was held at the Secretariat (former Ministers’ Office) in Yangon where General Aung San and leaders were assassinated, in observance of the 77th Martyrs’ Day on the morning of 19th July.

Secretary of the Central Committee on Organizing the 77th Martyrs' Day Ceremony Yangon City Development Committee Chairman Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay, along with committee members, departmental personnel and the Guard of Honour, attended the event and saluted General Aung San and the fallen leaders. They then lowered the state flag to half-mast and observed two minutes of silence as a mark of remembrance.
