









Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the events of 14th edition of paying obeisance to the elder comedians and the awarding outstanding comedian prize organized by the Myanmar Comedians Association (Central) were held at Plenary Hall of Myanmar International Convention Center-II in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 7th July.
First, the members of Myanmar Comedians Association (Central) presented performing Theme Song of the association followed by screening documentary video clip on the history of Myanmar Comedians Association (Central).
In his words of appreciation regarding with the event, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn said that the Myanmar Comedians Association (Central) has been organizing the event of paying respect to the elder comedians for 14th time, as such event is a good tradition in line with the teaching on the blessings, it’s needed to preserve as Myanmar culture, the comedians are carrying out for the interest of the country as much as they can with their comedic profession, the Government is awarding the prizes of excellent performance to those comedians who are carrying out for the interest of the country and the public.
The Union Minister wished for the association to be able to continue bringing the interest of the country, public and the artistes. Then, the Chairman of Myanmar Comedians Association U Dain Daung expressed words of thanks on behalf of the association.
At the event, outstanding comedian prizes were awarded to the excellent comedic profession, excellent supporting comedic profession, excellent creation of comedic profession and certificate of honor for excellent philanthropic activity to the winners.
After that, the comedians from Myanmar Comedians Association collectively paid obeisance to the elder veteran comedians and comedian U Paw Lay expressed words of thanks on behalf of the elder comedians.
Then, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn presented the items of paying obeisance to the elder veteran comedians. As second part of the event, the 2nd conference of Myanmar Comedians Association (Central) was conducted and the status of implementations for the development of the field of comedians and the plans to be implemented were discussed.
In the afternoon, the members of Myanmar Comedians Association paid homage to the Maravijaya Buddha Image which is the world's tallest sitting marble Buddha Image in the precinct of Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw.
