Paying homage to the Mahamuni: MDY CM paid homage to Mahamuni Buddha Image

Mandalay Region Chief Minister, U Myo Aung, along with Region Ministers and relevant officials, paid homage to the Mahamuni Buddha Image in the morning on April 14.

After that, they inspected the damage caused by the recent severe earthquake and its aftershocks. This included assessments of restoration efforts, planned systematic demolitions of structurally unsafe buildings, debris clearance, ongoing repair and maintenance work, and other recovery operations.

The Chief Minister provided the necessary support and guidance to the responsible personnel for further actions. Following that, he visited several monasteries including Mahagandhayon Monastery and Hsin Phyu MeMonastery in Amarapura Township; Maha Thundararama Monastry in Pyigyidagun Township; Wethali Gandhayon Monastery and Chanmyathazi Monastery in Chanmyathazi Township.

At these monasteries, the Chief Minister paid respects to the presiding Sayadaws, discussed the damage sustained by the religious buildings due to the earthquake, and listened to their requests and suggestions regarding future restoration plans. He also offered alms and other religious donations, including food and supplies.
