Paying courtesy call : ICRD residents representatives paid courtesy call

The outgoing resident representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)Ms. Elena Ajmone Sessera after completing her tour of duty in Myanmar and the newly appointed resident representative of ICRC in Myanmar Mr. Arnaud de Baecque and delegation paid a courtesy call to the Union Minister for Health, Dr. Thet Khaing Win at his office of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 9th December.

During the call, they discussed the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the ICRC on healthcare issues, including the provision of healthcare services, workshops on prosthetics and orthotics production, and the enhancement of rehabilitation departments. They also discussed technical and human resource training matters, as well as collaborations with international organizations, including UN agencies. Further cooperation on these matters and plans for future joint activities were discussed in a cordial manner.

At the end of the meeting, the Union Minister presented memorable gift to Ms. Elena Ajmone Sessera with a token of appreciation for her service, as she is set to leave Myanmar.

The call was attended by the Deputy Minister for Health, the Permanent Secretary, officials from the Ministry of Health, and representatives from the ICRC.
