In Nepal's Capital, Kathmandu, the ongoing Paubha Painting Exhibition showcased the rich tradition and culture of the Newar community of Nepal. Paubha painting was practiced by traditional painters as early as the 3rd century A.D.

The Newar traditional painters believe that Paubhas were taken to Tibet from the valley, which became a base for the development of the Himalayan Buddhist devotional art known as Thangkas. A Thangka is a scroll painting from Tibet that encrypts Buddhist messages. The exhibition is scheduled to run for a month.
