Passing Of Weatherman: Myanmar Meteorologist Dr. Tun Lwin Passed Away

Myanmar Meteorologist Dr. Tun Lwin passed away at the age of 71 in Yangon on Monday evening. 

He was born in Kula Village, Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region on 17 January 1948. He has worked at the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology since 1965 when he was 17 years old.  He then served as Deputy-Director in the Ministry of Meteorology and Hydrology till 2003 when he was promoted to Director General of Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.

After 44 years in total at the DMH, Dr. Tun Lwin retired in 2009. After retiring, he has served as a researcher in meteorology and hydrological measures.

He has written numerous successful books on weather in Myanmar, works with local radio stations on weather-related segments and regularly writes articles on various topics on weather updates in the magazines and newspaper journals.
