Passengers rescued after Mumbai monorail stranded on elevated track

Hundreds of passengers were rescued from Mumbai’s monorail on ladders by fire brigade members and rescue personnel on Tuesday, after monorail broke down due to a suspected power cut as the megacity reeled under waterlogging from incessant rains.

Passengers were stuck for two hours and tried to get help by calling people. There were two or three officers with the passengers in the monorail and they contacted the police and the fire brigade for assistance.
