Paraguay on Tuesday approved an EU-Mercosur trade agreement, becoming the final member of the South American country to do so. Paraguayan Chamber of Deputies voted unanimously to adopt the agreement, thereby finalizing the country's ratification of a treaty.

Deputy foreign minister told that the agreement offers South American member countries "a great opportunity to integrate the market and offer what Mercosur produces to the entire European market." It was learned that the agreement was signed in mid-January in Asuncion city, following 25 years of negotiations.
