Senior officials from Latin America and Africa discussed how to protect the United Nations charter and the rules-based world order during a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

Colombia's vice-president called for the international community to put human lives at the center of its policy-making. Namibia's prime minister echoed that view, calling for a peaceful resolution to the "entire world". Meanwhile, Brazil's foreign minister stressed the need to reform global organizations such as the U.N. Security Council and the World Trade Organization, to include equal representation from Latin America.
