Rangers at Panama's UNESCO-listed Coiba National Park intercept a fishing boat using new radar technology aimed at combating illegal fishing.

In April, officials inaugurated the technology at Coiba National Park made up largely of marine reserves. The monitoring equipment, provided by international NGO Global Conservation, was installed on Coiba Island, the largest in the park. Fishing without a permit is illegal in the park, which is home to several threatened species.
