Palm Sunday procession in Ivory Coast

People holding palm fronds processed through the streets of Abidjan, Ivory Coast to celebrate Palm Sunday. Many also attended a Mass. The congregation prayed for peace and improved economic prosperity as well as thanking God for the recovery of Pope Francis, who was released from hospital yesterday. Christians make up 34 per cent of the population in the West African country.
