Palm Oil Industry : Nearly 400,000 yields can be found in Thaninthayi

Palm Oil trees cultivation can be found only in Thaninthayi Region across the country. According to the Department of Agriculture (Thaninthayi), palm oil cultivation acres can be found over 390,000 across the region and there are 39 palm oil companies.

Due to soil, irrigated water and weather conditions in the region, both local and foreign companies put investment in palm oil plantation. Palm oil cultivation was developed 30 years ago in the region and at present, palm oil plantation reaches nearly 400,000 acres.

Only when the private companies and local growers make efforts in palm oil plantation and production effectively, more amount of palm oil seeds can be able to produce in the future and can increase income for the growers. Likewise, there are altogether 6 crude palm oil mills in Thaninthayi Region to process palm oil fruits.
