Palestinian president Abbas receives Greek PM Mitsotakis in Ramallah

Greece Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Monday and reaffirmed Greece’s commitment to dialogue and long-term peace in Gaza, adding that Athens stands ready to contribute to alleviating human suffering in the region and assist in the reconstruction of Gaza.

Mitsotakis said the visit marked the first by a Greek prime minister to Ramallah since 2015 and the first by a European leader since the launch of the first phase of the Gaza Peace Plan in October.
