Pakokku Literary Award: 29th Pakokku Literary Awards for 2023 announced

The Pakokku Literary Award Fund Supervisory Committee announced the winners of the 29th Pakokku Literary Awards established by Pakokku U Ohn Pe for 2023 on 10th April.

First, second and third winners came out in the selected poem genre, novel genre, selected short stories genre and research literature genre, whereas the second prize winner emerged in the treatise genre. Doyen literati Dr Yi Yi Hla (Yuwati Khin Oo) and Daw Tin Yi (Tin Yi Ma-Nyaung-U) won the Pakokku U Ohn Pe Lifetime Awards for Literary Achievement.

Ma Khine Thazin Thein, a second-year student in the Film and theatrical drama department of the National University of Arts and Culture (Yangon) and Ma Myat Shwe Sin Hmuu, a second-year student in the Film and theatrical drama department of the National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) were awarded the Pakokku U Ohn Pe scholarship.

The books of MP Maung Myint, Aung Toe (Sein Chal) and U Myat Khine secured the Pakokku U Ohn Pe Library Book Awards for 2020. The Pakokku U Ohn Pe Lifetime Awards for Literary Achievement winners will be awarded 1 million Kyats, the first manuscript award winner 700,000 Kyats, the second 500,000 Kyats and the third  400,000 Kyats, respectively.
