Villagers waded through neck-deep floodwater in Pakistan's Baluchistan province on Sunday, as the country struggled to cope with a deadly monsoon season that has killed nearly 1,000 people.

Flash floods triggered by heavy rains across much of Pakistan have injured and displaced thousands more since mid-June. Rescuers have struggled to evacuate thousands of marooned people from flood-hit areas. The crisis has forced the government to declare a state of emergency.
