Paint factory on fire in Karatay district

A fire that broke out at a paint factory located in the MARSAN Industrial Zone in Konya’s Karatay district of Turkyie rapidly escalated. For reasons not yet determined, the fire intensified quickly as paint and chemical substances ignited.

Dense black smoke rising from the factory was clearly visible from many parts of Konya, causing widespread panic among nearby industrial workers and residents.  Fire crews are continuing intensive efforts to prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring workplaces.
