Pagoda Digital Directory: Discussion on the installation plan in Magwe Region

A clarification on installation of Pagoda Digital Directory at the pagodas and temples in Magwe Region took place on Thursday. Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin attended the event and made discussion.

Attendees also discussed the plans to cooperate with the Magwe University of Computer Studies, data accuracy of pagodas’ history and work processes. With the guidance of the Head of State, the Pagoda Digital Directory has been installed at 10 prominent pagodas including Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Maha Muni Buddha Image in Mandalay, Kyaikhtiyoe Pagoda in Kyaikhto, Shwezigon Pagoda in NyaungU, Ananda Pagoda in Bagan, Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw, Myathalun Pagoda in Magwe, Shwe San Daw Pagoda in Pyay, Shit Thaung Pagoda in Mrauk U and Shwemawdaw Pagoda in Bago in the first phase.

The project began in August 2023 with the target to complete both online and offline facilities by December. The initiative aims for the public to study about all the prominent pagodas of Myanmar in one place. The second phase is scheduled for installation at 14 prominent pagodas with the third phase planned for all historic prominent pagodas across the country.
