Paddy Harvesting: Monsoon paddy plantation harvested in Myeik

Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko visited the harvesting ceremony of monsoon paddy model plot held in Thabut village tract, Myeik Township on Friday morning.

Also present at the ceremony were Chief Justice of Region High Court, Regional Government Ministers, members of District/ Township Administration Council, members of District/ Township Agricultural Supervision Committee and local farmers.

In Taninthayi Region, pure rice strain GW-11 was transplanted with frames and the average yield per acre of rice was 135 tons. By cultivating GW-11, the rice yield is higher compared to previous years.

Those who are interested to cultivate high-yield GW-11 as monsoon paddy in coming 2024 are urged to contact Myeik District and Township Agricultural Department.
