




From 1stFebruary 2021 to 28th February 2023, more than 210,000 workers were sent to 82 countries for works with Overseas Worker Identification Cards (OWIC). Myanmar mostly sent the workers to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and Korea.
Thurain Lin, Director, Dept. of Labour, said " We were able to send the workers to 82 countries and mostly dispatch to Thailand. More than 100,000 workers were sent to Thailand, over 39,000 workers to Malaysia, more than 20,000 workers to Singapore as well as over 15,000 and 8,000 workers to Japan and Korea. The workers need to attend the training before they go to foreign countries.And, workers can go abroad through the two routes such as Yangon-Myawaddy-MaeSot and Yangon-Kawthoung-Ranaung.TheOWIC card process can be made within a day at the offices including 8-miles branch."
For the Overseas Worker Identification Cards (OWIC), the applicants may submit their applications in person and can take out the cards.
