




The Overseas Employment Supervisory Committee held its work coordination meeting 2/2023 at the Ministry of Labour on Monday.
At the meeting, Chairman of the Committee Union Minister for Labour Dr Pwint San said that for Myanmar workers who have completed 4-years of MoU working in Thailand to be able to return to work through the MoU U-turn system, the two countries discussed at the Thai-Myanmar labor experts meeting held on 19th June and preparations are being made to dispatch programs with MoU U-turn system among relevant departments.
Workers who have completed MoU 4-year passport renewal at the Myanmar Embassy in Thailand will be issued an OWIC card if they re-enter Myanmar and leave through the MoU U-Turn system.
After re-entering Myanmar, workers who renew their PJ books will issue an OWIC card by verifying the facts at the Skill Training School in Dagon City New (North) Village when they leave.
In regard with money transfer, arrangements are being made to transfer 25 percent of the basic salary through official banking system for family remittances sent back by Myanmar workers abroad.
The Union Minister clarified the efforts of the Committee for the protection on the rights of migrant workers in line with policies adopted by the government.
Later, the Secretary of the Committee Deputy Minister U Win Shein discussed the aim for dispatching workers to foreign countries, countries and regulatory agencies, verifying and issuing overseas employment agency license, dispatching workers to abroad and family remittance.
The Director General of the Labour Department reported on completion on the decisions of previous meeting and matters to be discussed at the meeting. Committee members discussed the work programs of relevant ministries.
