Over 1,000 homes flooded in Quebec – CBC

More than 1,000 homes flooded in parts of Quebec, Canada as of Sunday, according to the CBC. Canadian Armed Forces were dispatched to help local communities. roughly 200 troops arrived in Laval while the city faced rising waters along rivers and channels, CBC reported.

The flooding has already killed a woman who died in Pontiac, Quebec on Saturday after floodwaters washed away part of a road she was driving on. Forecasters are predicting no major precipitation for the rest of April in Quebec; giving residents hope that the worst of the flooding may be nearing its end.
