"Our gun laws will change" says NZ Prime Minister

18 March 2019

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern vowed to change the country's gun laws on Monday after the Christchurch mosque shootings that saw 50 people killed. At the Gun City gun store in Christchurch protesters stood with placards condemning Friday's attack.

MUSIC TEACHER, REINA DORNAN said "I would like to see it being made a lot harder, if not impossible for the public to get multi-action guns because one person did this damage in less than an hour, went to two locations, killed 50 people, wounded many more and has done so much devastation in less than an hour. Had this rifle not been available so readily I'm not sure that would have happened."

Brenton Tarrant, a 28-year-old Australian citizen, has been charged with murder in relation to the killings, and police have said he will face further charges.
