Order No. (3/2026) : NDSC granted pardon to foreign prisoners

The National Defence and Security Council issued Order No. (3/2026) dated January 4.

The full order is (Amnesty Order) stated that the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, in commemoration of the 78th Anniversary Independence Day falling on January 4, 2026, to promote friendly relations among nations, and emphasizing humanitarian considerations, hereby grants amnesty and deportation to 52 foreign male and female prisoners serving sentences in prisons/lockups/camps. Under Section 401, Sub-section (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, their remaining sentences are commuted on the condition that if they commit the offense again, they will have to serve the current sentence plus any remaining sentences.
