Order No. 1/2023: SAC issues order regarding natural disaster affected areas

The State Administration Council issued the Order No. 1/2023 on the 15thof May 2023. It states that the extremely severe cyclonic storm ‘MOCHA’ hit Rakhine state crossing near Sittwe Township on the 14th of May.

Due to the extremely severe cyclonic storm ‘MOCHA’, there were losses and damages. Therefore, Kyaukphyu, Manaung, Yanbye, Ann, Sittwe, Pauktaw, Ponnagyun, Rathedaung, Gwa, Taungup, Thandwe, Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Kyauktaw, Minbya, Mrauk-U and Myebon townships of Rakhine State were declared as the natural disaster affected areas, according to the Section 11 of the Natural Disaster Management Law.
