Orchestra Concert: Joint Performance Of Myanmar And Japan Musicians

The Myanmar National Symphony Orchestra of Myanma Radio and Television under the Ministry of Information, together with Japanese musicians, featured their performances in Yangon on Thursday evening.

Yangon Region Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Lin Naing Myint, Rakhine Ethnic Affairs Minister U Zaw Aye Maung, Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Ichiro Maruyama, the officials and music lovers enjoyed the concert.

Director, Music Department (MRTV), Toe Kyaw said “This is the annual event of performing orchestra concert. This year is the 7th time of performing this kind of orchestra. We use to perform in Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay respectively. We prepare for the concert six months ago, and we have practical rehearsal for at least once a month.”

The audience were entertained with the western music, Myanmar classical songs and western songs.

Staff Officer, Myanmar National Symphony Orchestra, Win Min Phyo Ko said “68 staff members from Myanmar National Symphony Orchestra perform together with 13 Japanese musicians here in this concert. We have undergone joint practice for seven times. Each time last for about two weeks. We will play famous Myanmar classics as well as western classical music.”

Japanese Musician, Viola, Mariko Ito said “I hope for development of Myanmar music in cooperation with Myanmar musicians. This is my first time participation in the joint performance.”

The similar event will be staged at Myanmar International Convention Center-II in Nay Pyi Taw from 6 to 8 pm on 25th February with free entrance.
