Orange alert issued as heavy rains lash Uttarakhand

The weather in Uttarakhand has turned severe, with continuous rain and an orange alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department. From early morning, heavy to light rainfall has been reported across the state, especially in Dehradun and several surrounding districts.

Cloud cover persists across both mountainous and plain areas. The Met Department warned of intense to very intense rainfall in parts of the state. People and tourists have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel. District administrations are on alert and are monitoring the situation closely.
