Orange alert in India’s Uttarakhand

The India Meteorological Department has sounded an orange alert for Uttarakhand, warning of intense rainfall in the region. Heavy overnight showers in Mussoorie severely disrupted normal life, triggering massive landslides across several areas.

One of the worst-affected areas was Barlow Ganj, where a major section of road was completely washed away after a hillside collapsed, cutting off access in and out of the area. Authorities are on alert, and restoration efforts are underway to clear the debris and restore connectivity.
