Opening of Shan CM’s Cup: U-25 Inter-Township football tournament kicked off

The opening ceremony of 2024 Shan State Chief Minister’s Cut Inter-Township football tournament was held at the State sports ground in Taunggyi Township at 3 PM on 17th January. In his opening speech, the Chief Minister said that the football is a popular sport among the people in Shan State, Shan State Team has good traditions and success in the history of Regions and States football tournament, the State selection players will be selected through this tournament.

Shan State team constituted with those State selection players will compete in the very first U-25 Regions and States Football competition. According to the tradition of the Shan State team, the success of the team is expected.

Next, the contestant football players recited the sports vows, the Chief Minister, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Ministers and officials greeted the players, members of judge jury, the Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye provided cash of honor to the drum corps and pom pom dance group.

Then, they enjoyed the competition of Hse Sai Township team and Lashio team as the first event of the tournament. In the 2024 Shan State Chief Minister’s Cut Inter-Township football tournament, totaling 27 teams are participating in the competition and the competition will take place from 17th January to the 1st of February, it’s reported.
