Opening of Sepak Takraw competition: Regions and States Sepak Takraw competition opened

In commemorating 2023 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, The opening ceremony of SAC Chairman’s Cup Regions and States (Open/Invitation) Sepak Takraw competition was held at Wunna Theiddi stadium (B) in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 29th December.

In his opening speech, the Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan said the Sepak Takraw is a easy access and affordable sport anywhere and anytime when there are a cane ball and a net.

So, it’s a sport played across the nation and it’s attracted to all people. That also brought the country’s pride by winning the medals at the Asia and South East Asia Games. All participants are urged to compete with the best ability and try hard to become the outstanding athletes who bring the country’s pride through this competition etc.

Then, the Union Minister opened the SAC Chairman’s Cup Regions and States (Open/Invitation) Sepak Takraw competition. Next, the Union Ministers and officials cordially greeted the athletes. Then, they enjoyed the completion between the Taninthayi Region and Mon State ast the first day event.

The completion will take place at boxing ring building of Wunna Theiddi play ground from 29th December to 3rd January, 2023 and 15 teams (Men) from regions and states, it’s learnt.
