




The opening ceremony for the Special Refresher Course for Basic Education Teachers, Batch No. (77), was held on 30th September 2024 at the Yadana Hall. The ceremony was attended by U Aung Thaw, Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board, Director General of the office of Union Civil Service Board, Rector and Pro-Rector of the Civil Service Academy (Upper Myanmar), responsible personnel from teaching/administrative departments, officials from the Ministry of Education, invited guests, as well as the trainees of the course.
In his opening speech, Union Civil Service BoardChairman U Aung Thaw emphasized that the duties of basic education teachers must be carried out consistently and correctly, based on their respective fields and positions, in an orderly and disciplined manner. He noted that the academies of civil service are providing training to produce skilled and capable human resources who are complete with the five strengths.
Furthermore, the course aims to equip trainees with knowledge about the country’s policies, national security, and defense processes, as well as the political, economic, and social conditions of the country. It also aims to educate them on the rules and regulations related to the administration and teaching of students, to instill awareness of teacher ethics and values, and to enhance understanding of civil service laws and rules so that trainees develop better mindsets.
He urged the trainees to engage in their studies and work with dedication, passion, and self-sacrifice, to contribute to the elevation of national education. He encouraged them to practically apply the knowledge and skills gained from the course in their workplaces and to conduct themselves with discipline and strong conviction, so as to become outstanding teachers who serve as good civil servants.
The course is attended by a total of 383 trainees, consisting of 81 male and 302 female trainees, and the duration of the course is five weeks.
