Opening of pre worksite training: UEC Chairman gave an opening address

The opening ceremony of pre worksite capacity enhancement training for staff officers who will serve duty at Township sub election commission offices was held at the meeting hall of the office of Union Election Commission at 9:30 AM on Monday.

In his opening address, the Union Election Commission Chairman U Ko Ko said that the trainee officers are going to serve parallel duties of office and Township sub election commission as those serve at the UEC. So, this training is given for the knowledge and skills on the facts of election and office works at the election commission office.

The trainee officers will be assigned as Township electoral officer. After appointment of public admired persons as the Chair of Township sub election commission, the officers will be assigned as the secretary of Township sub election commission.

Then, the UEC Chairman elaborated the election process, importance of voters list, the election systems of First Pass The Post (FPTP) and Proportionate Representative (PR), voting with ballot paper and voting through Electronic Voting Machine to be exercised in coming election and the UEC Chairman also gave necessary instruction to the trainee officers.

After submitting the biography of individual trainees, the opening ceremony was concluded. The training will be attended by 17 trainees and the training will be conducted from 26th to 29th February, it’s learnt.
