








The Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Energy, U Thant Sin, along with the Yangon Region Minister for Natural Resources, U Zaw Win, and relevant officials from the enterprises and departments under the the Ministry attended the opening ceremony of a new LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) sale station in Thaketa Township, Yangon Region, on January 1, 2025.
Initially, Deputy Minister U Thant Sin and Region Minister U Zaw Win pressed the button to open the new signboard of the LPG sale station (Thaketa) and took a commemorative photo.
Continuing with his speech at the opening ceremony, the Deputy Minister stated that LPG is an environmentally clean fuel with no pollution. It can be used as a firewood substitute for cooking gas and in industrial applications. He further explained that in Myanmar, LPG is produced and distributed by the Petrochemical Complex (Thanbayarkan) and the LPG plants No. (2) and No. (3), producing cooking gas (butane) and industrial-grade gas (propane). In the future, the Ministry plans to import LPG from abroad and distribute it widely across the country. The station was established with international standards for this purpose.
Following this, the Region Minister, gave a speech and Managing Director from Yadanasu Company clarified the role of the company, in constructing the station and explained the plans for the distribution of LPG.
Additionally, the Deputy Minister, the Region Minister and other responsible officials inspected the ongoing activities of the LPG sales station.
