





Members of State Administration Council Daw Bwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Mann Nyein Maung, Dr. Hmu Htan, Dr. Ba Shwe, U Yan Kyaw, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, departmental officials, Rectors, Principals, teachers, invited guests attended the opening ceremony of 2024 Inter-Ministerial Universities Football Competition held at the Wunna-Theiddi football ground in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on September 2nd.
At the event, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Sports Competition, Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe stated that the Ministry of Education continuously supports and enhances the university sports sector in accordance with the social objectives of the State Administration Council and the encouragement and guidance of the head of State.
The current inter-ministerial university football competition is being held with the goal of “From University Selection to Myanmar Selection.” Through this competition, outstanding university athletes will be selected and trained to participate in international events, including ASEAN university sports competitions, and other international sports events.
After reciting sports vows by the athletes, the SAC members, Union Minister Dr. Nyunt Pe and officials cordially greeted the athletes.Next, the SAC members, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers and officials watched the Pom Pom dance of students from Meiktila Education Degree College and enjoyed the football competition.At the competition, the football team represented the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development and the team of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation played with all-out-effort and the MCRD team beat the team of MNREC with 7-1.
The competition is being taken part by 7 ministerial Universities including the teams represented the Ministry of Border Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Health and the competition will take place from 31st August to September 9, it’s learnt.
