Opening ceremony: 75th Kachin State Day and Manaw festival opened

The opening ceremony of 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Kachin State Day which will fall on 10th January, 2023 was held at the lawn of the Kachin State Government Office at 8 AM on January 9 with the Manaw dance which depicts the unity of the local national races.

The opening ceremony was attended by the SAC members Jeng Phang Naw Taung, U MaungHar, U Sai Lone Sai, U ShweKyein, Union Ministers and they were welcome by the Kachin State Chief Minister U KhetHtain Nan, state government members, state advocate general and the national races cultural groups with traditional dances. Next, Father said prayers for enabling to hold the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Kachin State Day and Manaw festival and the union ministers and deputy ministers opened the ceremony and Manaw festival by cutting the ribbon.

Then, the members of the State Administration Council, Union Ministers, state Chief Minister, Commander of Northern Command, senior military officers, state chief justice, state ministers, state advocate general, state level departmental officials, 6 groups of Kachin nationalities, 5 groups of Shan nationalities in Kachin State, Bamar national race cultural groups, trainees from educational college, nursing training school, border area national races development training school happily participated in manaw dance following the Nau Shawng in line with the tradition.

Then, the SAC members, union ministers, state chief minister, deputy ministers, senior military officers viewed round the departmental display booths and local products of mining related display booth, forest and environmental, Jade and polished gems, herbal medicinal products, paper and books products, agriculture, livestock and local produced fruits and vegetables, instant food products, back-strap weaving, loom and silk thread display booths.

Then, they attended the traditional boxing challenge competition held at the people’s sports ground jointly organized by the department of sports and physical education and Myanmar Traditional Boxing Federation (Upper Myanmar) in commemorating the Diamond Jubilee Kachin State Day and the SAC members together with the Union Minister U Min Thein Zan and Chief Minister U Khet Htain Nan Opened the competition by cutting ceremonial ribbon.

Then, they enjoyed the traditional boxing competitions participated by the boxing players from 12 traditional boxing clups in the country held at the indoor stadium, it’s learnt.
