




Open AI chief Sam Altman inked a deal with tech giant Kakao in South Korea on Tuesday as the US firm seeks new alliances after Chinese rival DeepSeek shook the global AI industry.
Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO said "The combination of assets that Korea has for AI really feels maybe unique in the world. But it's very special to see what's happening and very excited for our partnership together. I really think we have a shared vision and set up and mission and look forward to building great products for all the Korean people."
Kakao’s CEO also emphasized the potential synergy between the two companies, highlighting Kakao’s deep understanding of the Korean market and OpenAI’s global service expertise. The collaboration aims to drive innovation and enhance AI-driven solutions for users in South Korea and beyond.
