OpenAI to build $25 bn mega data center in Patagonia, Argentina's Milei says

US Company OpenAI, creator of ChatGPT, signed a letter of intent to invest $25 billion in building a mega data center for artificial intelligence in Argentine Patagonia, the first of its kind in Latin America, President Javier Milei announces during a speech at Sidersa.

 According to the government statement, the project will be developed through a joint venture between Sur Energy and a leading global cloud infrastructure provider, with OpenAI participating as the main buyer of computing capacity.
