Online scam crackdown: 4 Chinese and 17 Myanmar nationals arrested

Acting on a tip-off, the combined forces including members of Myanmar Police Force searched a house owned by Daw Sandar between 27th Street between 65 and 66 Streets in Pyigyi Myet Hman Ward of Chan Aye Thazan Chan Aye Thazan Township, Mandalay Region reported engaging online scams in cooperation of Chinese citizens and Myanmar ones at 4:30 PM on 18th August, 2024 together with the witnesses.

During the inspection, three Chinese men and one women including Yanlong who run the online scam, 16 Myanmar nationals incluidn 10 men and six women, including Ye Myint aged 20 (father U Youk Soup), from Htunsan  Village, Laukkai Township in Shan State and home owner Daw Sanda together with four sets of computers, two laptops, one 5BB Broadband Wi-Fi device, three Ruijie Regee Wi-Fi extenders, and other related materials.

The suspects have been filed and under investigation at No 3 Police Station in Chan Aye Thazan Township to take effective action under the Electronic Transactions Law, Section 33(a)/38.
