

The onjob skill training for the deputy staff officers who will serve duties at the Union Election Commission and the sub-commission offices were held at the UEC office on Monday.
At the event, Chairman of the Union Election Commission U Thein Soe said that the preparation process and the tasks to be carried for the successful holding of the elections are very large.
The trainees need to know the duties of an officer of the township-charge and they must support their superiors and their department in carrying out the works.
Unlike other departments, the Election Commission is carrying out heavy responsibilities. That’s why, the staffs are necessary to meet the qualifications but also they need practice to ensure public trust and respect in the behavior and relations.
The commission must conduct the election to be free and fair. The commission carries out the tasks continuously not only when the election is held but also in the pre-election, during the election and the post-election periods.
In order to carry out the electoral activities successfully in accordance with the law, the UEC chairman called the trainees to learn the procedures, rules and regulations and to study the lessons conducted by the training.
The trainees are urged to learn the tasks to be carried out according to the procedures, activities for the PR system and study the lessons taught in the course.
Later, the trainees reported their personal information individually. Members of the UEC, officials of UEC office and 52 trainees are attending 2-day course.
