One Rescued Alive in Mandalay: 53-year-old U San Lwin rescued alive in Mandalay

A severe earthquake on March 28, resulted in the collapse of the Golden City Hotel between 31st and 32nd streets at 65th Street, in the Chan Aye Thazan Township of Mandalay Region.

A hotel employee, U San Lwin aged 53, was trapped for five days. Under the close supervision of Deputy Director  General U Ye Min Thu, rescue team members led by the Mandalay Regional Fire Brigade Chief U Zaw Win Tun worked tirelessly, in collaboration with rescue teams from Blue Sky Rescue from China, day and night to conduct the rescue operation. It has been reported that U San Lwin was successfully rescued alive at approximately 5:46 PM on April 2nd and was subsequently transported to Mandalay General Hospital for necessary medical treatment.
