One person killed in fires in Russia

Fires broke out in several villages and districts in Kurgan region on Thursday. At least one person was killed in the fires in Russia’s Kurgan region. In the Russian village of Logoushka, a street of 76 houses was burned down, according to a report released by the Russian state channel RU-RTR on Friday.

It said 134 more houses were saved, while the total area of the fire reached 90 hectares. Temporary accommodation was organised for victims of the fire, while the Russian Investigative Committee initiated a criminal investigation. The ministry said 438 people and 122 vehicles were involved in the operation. Efforts to bring the fires under control continues.
